What does Yield Management mean?
A direct translation does not meet the core of this strategic method.
Yield management can be illustrated by the example of air traffic. For the same flight from A to B a multiplicity of different prices is available. This differentation of the prices is based on outward differences like first class and economy class, in addition, on special tarif conditions such as booking time, different cancellation possibilities, time of the return flight, possibility of reduction, booking channel among other things. Since end of the 70's Airlines in the USA operated with Yield management intensively, in order to optimize capacity and revenue of the airlines optimally.
This is also the goal of PPR (Programming pool Romania) itself. The Yield management system developed presents a tool, with which dynamic pricing is done (semi-) automatically and in real time in all chosen distribution systems. Interfaces to Pegasus (as SWITCH to the 4 GDS's) and the ADS as well as to the Front Office Program (PMS) are already successful in use. Thus the very time consuming care of different systems is void and it automatically insures a rate parity in the interest of the customer and the hotels.
Developed for and from the needs of the hotel trade!
